Eyes of the Storm
06/12/2017 – Drone Complier is very proud that its drone management software has been recently used by Embry Riddle Aeronautical University as students and faculty deployed in support of disaster relief operations in Oklahoma after severe weather recently struck the Elk City area. The students utilized a fleet of drones, and Drone Complier flight management software, to deliver a live look at the tornado’s destruction to state emergency management officials. Mobilizing quickly and using their expertise in safety planning and flight operations, combined with real-time data from Drone Complier, the students provided valuable insights to first responders despite very challenging conditions.
As a world leader in unmanned systems education since their program first started in 2011, Embry Riddle is exploring ways for safe drone operation to contribute to the critical work done by first responders in the wake of an event. Their students and faculty have utilized Drone Complier to ensure effective fleet and pilot management, check airspace and weather, and safely plan missions. Having a common platform for all operators on laptops and mobile phones has been crucial when responding in challenging environments.
“We are very pleased to have contributed to such an important project with one of the nation’s premier UAS institutions,” Said Drone Complier CEO Wayne Rochat. “Our partnership with Embry Riddle has enabled us to prove and continually enhance our solution to make sure it’s the best tool available for professionals and enthusiasts alike.”
Drone Complier software is available for purchase at www.dronecomplier.com, or users can download Drone Complier Lite for a free trial.
